Invitation to visit Oscar Prize winner Andja Vajdas free impressions in Gore
The Polish Embassy in Latvia offers a brilliant Polish film and theatre director, a script author and scenography, a number of cinema prizes, including Oscar Prize winners, Andja Vajdas film sample free impressions in Latgale embassy GORE in the small hall.
The film will be shown in Polish with titles in Latvian. Entrance free of charge.

Double Image (Powidoki)
“Double picture” - the heart of Vladislava Stsheminski, XX. The last stage of the 20 th and 30 th years of the Polish avant-garde art pioneer. The main hero is an artist who did not obey the ruling socialist realism and who had to experience the dramatic consequences of his choice. “Double image” is a story of how communist power destroyed a charismatic and unbearable person.
The Chronic of Love Accidents (Kronika wypadków miłosnych)
The summer of 1939, the end of the Second World War. The waves and its surroundings. The daughter of Colonel Nalench, Alina, becomes Viteka's first, youth-day love. Gradually he manages to break the girl's resistance and conquer her heart. Young people are planning to escape after secondary school examinations. Unfortunately, Vitek does not change his exams, and that the mayor is full, he knows that Alinda must go abroad. The last meeting she comes to in a white “wedding dress”. They spend the night together and sleep on the river. They are woken by the sounds of alarm sirens, which reports the beginning of the war. The expedition of Tadeuka Konvicka's novel, the story of young people's premature growth, sadness for the mysterious world of innocence, cleanliness and childhood, lost forever, and therefore seems even more beautiful.
Katina (Katyń)
An attempt to expedition the most tragic event of Poland's recent history. The film begins on 17 September 1939, when the red army invades Poland. Among the prisoners of war were the fifteen thousand officers whose families were expecting them to return. Unfortunately, they never came home again. The drama “Katina” represented women's fate - after THE NKVD order in 1940, the likteņstāsti of the officers, wife and daughters of the Polish officers murdered in the woods.
Flesh-hunting (Polowanie na muchy)
The three-tenth-year-old Vladek of the Russian philology studio, a modest employee of the book store, lives a boring urban life with his wife, Hannah, his son, and his wife's parents. He has no professional ambitions and interests. His wife and mother-in-law held Vladeka in full obedience. One day, pretending to buy cigarettes, he walks away from home with a desire to escape. He gets acquainted with the Polish philosophy student Irene, who engages in romantic relationships. Irene wants to turn her into a man of his dreams. Almost against Vladka's own will, she tries to give her man a sort of interpreter, here as a writer, here as a living and even Warsaw's salon. However, all efforts are in vain... “Mouth hunting” is a satire of progressive changes in society where women become dominant and subject everything to their own power, while men become weak and lose their masculine.
Promised land (Ziemia obiecana)
The end of the 19 th century. The city of Lodzas, this is where the Polish textile industry is beginning to form. Three friends – Polis Karoļs Boroveckis, Germans Max Baums and Jew Moritz want to create a textile factory in the city. They use a variety of tricks and tricks stamped by the brutal cotton magnets. After a fire in the newly built spinning workshop, the friends' paths fall apart. The warrior resigns from the noble maniac ideals, withdraws his engagement with Anne to get the largest capital in the city through marriages with the daughter of the most prominent factory daughter, Madu Miller. Pans Tadeusz (Pan Tadeusz)
“Pans Tadeusz” is a story of hopes to sacrifice Russian invaders and to recover their country. In these hopes, the French Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte woke up for a short time. The main hero is the “young man” Jacek from the Sopalicus family. He is in love with the New Zealand, Stalenica from Horeshk's granddaughter, but he is trying to take him for both of them. The ecranizations of the Mickevich poem Pans Tadeusus. The main character of the film, Jacek Sopļica, murders Stalnik, but later regrets his sins. He becomes a secret agent who is hiding even from his son and brother, as priest Robakh is preparing an armed revolt against invaders in Sopłow Lietuvos.
