Baltic championship in Rezekne municipality will gather the best landmarks

On 14 and 15 May, the Maltese parish Grišcatos will take place in the 2022 Baltic Championship, which will bring together national teams from Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia.
On the first day of the championship, as usual, the participants will be in the long distance, and a relay will be held on the second day. In the long distance, the elite of men will have to carry a 15,6 km long distance with a height of 325 m while the ladies expect 10.3 km with a 250 m climb.
The Latvian Favorite Championship will represent a number of strong orientations, including Arthur Paulins, Edgars Berblank, Uldis Uptis, Andris Jubelis, Janis Tamuj, Irita pub, Aija Skrastina, Signe grey, Laura Vīķe and others. The Baltic Championship will also start the youth and junior teams. The most powerful Latvian landlord Rudolf Zurnis, who will not start in the sample composition because of health problems, and not see the last year Baltic Championship Sandra Grosbergs, who will start the world championship competitions in Denmark.
The director of the competition, Matīss, acknowledges that there is a large variety of vegetation and travel speeds in the area: “in the middle of the area it will be good to moderate. New stands of different age are present. The swamps are not very wet. The map will contain both large terrain shapes and a microterrain. In the long distance, the best results will be determined by the exact path between the checkpoints, particularly in elite groups. '
Traditionally, the Baltic Championship also starts the landmarks of Belarus and Saint Petersburg, however, because of the war in Ukraine, these teams will not participate in this championship.
The winners of the prize will be screened by the Latvian orientēšanās Federation Dobeles Dzirnavnieks and Maxima. Competitions are organised by Latvia's orientation federation in collaboration with the Rēzekne municipality council and the orientation club “stiga”
The Baltic Championship will also be the seventh and eighth stages of the Latvian Cup, respectively in the long and middle distance, where the results of the elite groups will not be counted in the Latvian Cup.
In parallel with the Baltic Championship, the Baltic veteran championship will also be held in the youth and elite groups, where everyone can be started according to their age group.
