Packing workshop created in drickets

Establishment of the rural development programmes for rural development financed by THE European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development 2014-2020, financed by THE European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (LEARN) 19.2. “Implementation of activities under a community-led local development strategy” in activity 19.2.2. Within the framework of the “site potential development initiative”, the project “creation of a packing workshop” supported by THE LEADER project competition launched by the “Rēzekne District Community Partnership” was implemented.
The objective of the project is to create an educational environment which creates preconditions for the promotion of public knowledge and practical understanding of the types of packaging of goods, materials used, their harmlessness/safety for human health, environmental aspects, as well as the role of packaging and its design in communication between the manufacturer of the product and the consumer.
In the framework of the project, various packaging equipment and appropriate hardware units were purchased, which will be available to existing and emerging local entrepreneurs, including pupils' training companies, to test the packaging and design options of their products free of charge, to understand which of the packaging types and materials would be the most appropriate for a specific product and resulting in knowledge-based decisions to improve their business.
The project was intended to purchase and install the following equipment:
Nine packing equipment: thermal crushing equipment — used for the packaging of both food and non-food goods; 2 basic vacuum packing equipment (one without and another with gas connection allowing prolongation of the product's survival); 2 different bag interfers to enable not only the defrost of the film material but also the defrosting of foil materials when it is important to provide a more suitable microclimate in the packaging (for example, the absence of light and the preservation of the appropriate humidity mode); the bag fastener and the film dispanser — a relatively cheap and available packaging type — the marker — for the presentation of any packaged product in accordance with legislative requirements; the marker — for the design of any packaged product in accordance with legislative requirements; the marker — for the design of the weight of the packaged product.
Two hardware units – a portable computer and a multifunctional coloured printer, so that it is possible to design and print labels and, of course, to retrieve information from the Internet environment.
The total cost of the project is EUR 7000,00. The aid intensity is 90%, thus the public financing is EUR 6300,00, the co-financing of the budget of the foundation “Rural Economic Development in Rezekne District” – 700,00 EURO.
