Dricānu children in the day camp “caleidoscope”
As small, colourful pieces of glass 20 active, curious children from 10 to 14 August took part in the day camp “KALEIDOSCOPE”, which took place in THE Dricānu parish library and the youth centre “Kukuji”. The organizer of the camp – Dricānu cultural association “Auseklis”, while the funding was linked to the “family friendly self-government” project financed by the Latvian State budget, co-financing OF THE PROJECT “family friendly environment”, co-sponsor Dricānu parish administration.
In camp, children worked for 5 days, each of these days having their own guidebook, which was accompanied by practical lessons.
The first day of camp was a day OF FAMILIARISATION AND COOPERATION. The children met, playing shared games. A camp logo, a talisman, under the direction of teacher John Velicko, was musicized, learned a variety of rhythm exercises, learned the camp anthem.
The second was THE day when the library manager Inara Orlova told children about the latest books in the library and the children's jury. Each had a chance to become a book illustrator, feel a story in a story, create his own bookmark. After his creative work, everyone participated in sporting activities led by the sports teacher Inese Bolshia.
On the third day of camp, we talked much and worked out because it was AN ENVIRONMENTAL day. Various experiments with environmental objects have been carried out, puzzles and challenges are addressed. We went together in a small hiking, during which various natural materials were collected, so that the Genovefa Jonathan, the leader of the cultural house, would be encouraged to create beautiful environmental paintings.
Thursday was a day OF PRACTICAL SKILLS. The pupils had the opportunity to create their own aromatic and natural-coloured winters, and the workshop was directed by Victoria Samule. The primary school teacher, Inguna Wule, was encouraged to draw on both the asphalt and the stones and the fingers, each of which could also operate with fingertips. The camp shirts were painted with Inara Orlov. The most delighted was the workshop organized by the youth centre “Kukuji”, a workshop organized by Ingonas Sam, as the children cepa pizza, they cut, crushed, crushed, and impatiently waited for the pizza to be ready!
While children were active and engaged in various activities, including children's parents, grandparents had an opportunity to educate, as the camp with three classes (lectures) took part in a psychotherapist, an art therapist Aloida Jurchenko.
Friday was a FAMILY SPORTS day, children with parents participated in a variety of relay games, playing games, and there were inflatable attractions available during the day. At the end of the camp, in the presence of both children and their families, certificates and medals of active participation in the camp “KALEIDOSCOPE” were issued.
