For the sixth time, the European Council of the Council of Europe “European Council of the Council of Europe” (hereinafter - competition) is organised in Latvia. The aim of the competition is to reward the practical initiatives that should be taken as an example of improving the quality of landscapes in the territories of the European landscapes.

Each State may nominate one nomination. The Latvian candidate will be determined in the national selection, where public institutions, local governments, their associations and associations or foundations can participate, which have contributed to the protection and management of landscapes, including planning and implementation of practical measures.

National selection is implemented in 2020 at the following stages:

  • from 20 August to 15 October 2020 - submission of applications;
  • the evaluation of applications from 16 October to 30 November 2020;
  • in December, the announcement of the results of the national selection.

To participate in national selection, we call for:

- fill in the application form available here.

- completed application form with visual materials (not more than 10 photos, 3 posters or booklets and/or one video material not longer than 10 minutes) with the indication “landscape prize” submit by 15 October 2020 in one from the following forms of submission:

  • electronically to e-mail address: pasts@varam.gov.lv;
  • in paper format, the address float street 25, Riga, LV-1494. The mail must contain a printed copy of the application in paper format and a media with the application form and visual materials in electronic format.
