European Parliament On the evening of 29 January, the British withdrawal agreement was approved by 683 votes to 49, with 13 abstentions.
In a debate with the Croatian State Secretaries in European Affairs Nicolina Brnjači, representing the Presidency of the Council, President of the Commission Urzulu fon der Leiena and EU main Brexit at Michel Barnier, the European Parliament assessed the progress of the withdrawal process and outlined further challenges.
By commenting on the historical significance of the vote, most of the representatives of the political groups stressed that the United Kingdom's withdrawal is not the END of EU-Britain relations, as the links linking the European People are still strong and remain. They also mentioned that from Brexit there can be a lot of learning FOR THE future of THE EU, as well as thanking Britain and its Members for their work.
Most speakers warned that negotiations on the future relations between THE EU and the United Kingdom would be difficult, particularly in view of the current deadlines for withdrawal.
