Services close to the family environment
IN April of that year, THE Municipality of Viļānu launched the project “Establishment and development OF a society-based social service infrastructure IN Viļānu municipality” (No 9.3.1.1/18/I/030). It aims to establish and develop a society-based social service infrastructure IN THE municipality OF Viļānu in accordance with the priorities set out in the local government development programme. Deinstitutionalisation (DI) infrastructure is planned to end at the end of 2022.
The design work of the building is currently in progress. The municipality has concluded a contract with SIA “Campaign” on the design of the construction project. The project is an indispensable contribution and support to the local government towards inclusive, community-based social services to improve the quality of life of citizens. The project will rebuild the former Rēzekne Technical Service Hotel (Mehanizatori Street 24A, Viļāni, Viļānu nov.), adapting it to adult persons with mental disorders and children with functional disorders. The building will accommodate group apartments with 16 places, a day care centre with 13 client places, specialised workshops (stitching, leather-making, carpentry) with 10 places, a social rehabilitation service centre with 17 client places, including accessibility of the environment. After THE introduction OF THE DI service, the building will be fully loaded. On the 1 st floor of the building, the local government plans to install co-production facilities for the needs of associations and social entrepreneurs, as well as to transfer the “hope” of social services and social support centres. Social apartments will be installed on the 4 th floor of the building. The project provides for the construction of a lift and separate entrance to each target group.
Deinstitutionalisation takes place throughout Latvia, where institutional care centres are replaced by community-based social services and family-friendly services. THE total cost of THE municipal project OF Viļānu is up to EUR 1 724,688.24, the eligible costs 1 559.458.22 EURO, including ERDF funding 479.705.15 EURO, State budget grant 25,396.16 EURO, municipal funding 1 054.356.91 EURO, project ineligible costs 165.230.02 EURO.
