The Seventh Year will be awarded to entrepreneurs of the Rēzekne municipality
On Tuesday, 19 March, in Joseph's Day, a Day of Rēzekne and a solemn ceremony of awards will be held at the Cultural House of Saint-Gans. The event will be awarded to bidders for the “Rezekne municipality 2018” competition.
For the Seventh year, the municipality of Rezekne is organising the competition “Rēzekne District Company”. In this time, 18 bidders in eight nominations were submitted: “annual enterprise”, “annual innovative product/service implementer”, “annual company – a LOCAL identity product”, “annual new company”, “annual tourism service provider”, “annual artisanal/household producer”, “annual family business”.
This year, the most successful candidates were nominated in the nomination “annual artisanal/domestic producer”, where five applicants were evaluated, but four applicants were nominated in the nomination “annual family business”.
At the end of the year, the Commission visits the bidders to assess the activities of companies, the attraction of investments, the creation of new jobs, the quality, originality, environmental protection and other aspects of the products or services produced. The Commission's work on the evaluation of the competition was chaired by the Chairman of the Standing Committee on Economic Development Affairs of the municipality of Rezekne, Staņislavs Skesters. Rēzekne Municipality Development Planning Unit Head Anna Jaudzema, Rēzekne District Council Member Vilis Deksnis, Ozolmuižas parish council chairman Jānis Kuzminskis, and Executive Director of the Foundation for Rural Economy in Rezekne District, Daina Butler, is also active in the evaluation of the Commission.
The “Rezekne Municipality” competition is one of the business support measures implemented by the municipality of Rezekne to promote the development of the business environment, employment, attractiveness and public activity. The winners of the competition will receive a special award – a design object that reflects the light and also the complex road to success. Award was created by the artist Norbert Kudins, an artist of the University of Rēzekne's art and design secondary school graduate Alexander Rezvova.
