Young people are invited to “adopt a Member”

The youth organisation “Global shapers Riga” has created a project “adopts a Member” with the aim of explaining the processes in the Saeima in an interesting and participatory format and encouraging young people to become civil activists.

On the project website www.adopt MEPs. lv a list of all 14 is available. The elected Members of the Saeima. From that list, young people may choose a Member who, within the framework of the project, is to be monitored by applying for “adoption”. After signing up, young people will receive communication guidelines and advice on how to communicate effectively and meaningfully with the selected Saeima deputy in their e-mail. In order to ensure regular communication, sufficient awareness and also motivation of the parties involved, every month, young people will receive a brief summary of what has happened in the Saeima during the relevant period.

The project has already received support from both individual Members and parties that have entered the Saeima, with Members being prepared to cooperate.

The project promoter is “Global shapers”, an initiative launched by the World Economic Forum (WEF) to promote the involvement of young people aged 20-29 in socio-economic processes by creating and improving the environment in which they live.
