Project on the study of the Lebanon Park
From April to late October of that year, a project “Continuation of the research of the natural monument“ Laizāns parks ”and the establishment and maintenance of the park's active area (training organisation) was implemented in THE elementary school unit OF Maltas.”
As part of this project, class 6 pupils carried out a study of epiphytic lichens and moss. The study showed that one year is not a sufficient period to create a large difference between the diversity and quantity of moss and lichens. The study will continue after the completion of the project. Changes can only be evaluated after five or more years.
Spring and autumn are the time when the park area needs cleaning. Each class was divided into an area which had to be cleaned during the talent. All of them worked, from small pre-grades, to ninth-class students, along with their classmates.
The children took part in the renovation of dendrological plantations. It is pleasant to think that when students become graduates they will be able to come to their former school and take a picture of the tree that they have set up for a while. The participants of the project learned how to do it properly and because of the right action, all the trees planted survived. Hopefully, the plants will also be successful in winter. Now the park and bush became ten species more.
Under the guidance of the teacher, the children carried out the observation and recognition of birds in the territory of the Lebanese Park. There was an opportunity to observe birds in binoculars. It was also possible to observe various bird species directly at the nursery of the school. There are bird species in the park whose presence we can only find after their “feet”. The most easy to recognize was the tracks that were left, but the poems of the poem, we could not accurately determine. It was most likely our woods, or the little poem.
It was much harder for the children of these years to work with insects. Some of the old trees we had found in the previous years, or the ants of the ants, had been felled. It is good that it does not touch one of the protected ants in the park - the brilliant ants. These insects live in three different places in Laizāns Park. We think that the entomologist is worth inviting again two years later. It is likely that the renovation of the park will also affect the diversity of insects.
In the framework of the project, a fox-free training class was fitted.
Several children actively participated in the creation of sensation trails. They pictured the materials, and when they set up the trail, they felt a professional builder. We had to buy some materials in the shop because in the local region such materials are not found in nature. We put information on all the materials used in the stalls.
Now that all renovation works have been completed in the Lebanon Park, the park area will also be available for research activities, as well as practical activities in natural sciences, visual arts, geography and mathematics hours, where the materials prepared by students will be used.
