Liga Griaweans

On the evening of 23 June, THE residents of Griškānu parish gathered in the sports area at Griškānu parish administration to celebrate the Liga festival together. As noted by those who had arrived, particularly interested in guests -- in villages at Griškānu parish CN, the Estonian vocal group “Mesi Naising” had arrived, which with the local cultural house was well acquainted and welcomed the invitation to participate in traditional Latvian Sunday festivals.
The guests told them that the summer sunshine was not so gorgeous, no interesting custom and ritual. An excursion of Griškānu parish and a visit to a ceramic Jura Crompan was offered prior to the concert, but when the bride in Spruand was over, the guests went to the Rēzekne Festival Park to feel the Liga festival atmosphere.
On the other hand, the bridegrowers in Sprudzs, alongside the Estonian group, were also pleased with the Gypsy-General “Charger”. The dramatic leader of the “Aizkraukija”, Ināra Daugule, introduced all the festive practices and beliefs, organized interesting games. There was no celebration, of_course, this time was the Latvian national food buzzer, which could be tasted by each of the wizards. The Estonian guests even wrote the recipe and promised to try to make this respect in the Estonian land, so much they liked it.
He was also joined by the parish chief Jānis - Griškānu parish administration Chairman Janis Aleksan with his family.
After the festival, positive reviews were received from the population about the success of the event, unusual and managed to create a real Jāņu atmosphere.
