National Integration Centre continues Latvian language training for third-country nationals in Rezekne

Recent years have seen trends pointing to new challenges in the field of integration in Latvia. Such as immigration and the free movement of labour, leading to an increase in the number of people in Latvia representing another culture, race, religion, issues of tolerance and differing acceptance. Insufficient Latvian language skills are one of the causes of the risk of integration of third-country nationals into society. The Society for Integration of the Society considers that programmes should continue to be implemented in which groups of society can benefit from their initiatives aimed at strengthening shared values, cohesion, raising the knowledge of the national language and promoting tolerance.
As a result of the implementation of the project “National Integration Centre” (NIC), the Latvian language training for third-country nationals, which took place throughout Latgale, was launched in early 2014. As of November 2014, NIC will continue to provide Latvian language training to third-country nationals in Latgale.
Within the framework of the project, it is intended to provide opportunities for third-country nationals to learn Latvian language - training courses at 120 h, including cultural, traditions and historical aspects, thereby ensuring a more complete integration into Latvian society. Mandatory pre-registration, as third-country nationals are offered the opportunity to learn Latvian according to their level of skills. More information on the website – integration.lv or by calling a free phone 80004006 or a modem +37120007023.
To submit your participation in the training in Latgale, we invite stakeholders to send e-application to the nic_latgale@inbox.lv by 17 November or login personally by phone +37129473700.
In the application, please indicate your name, surname, citizenship, time as you are in Latvia and the local government in whose territory you are currently living.
