From idea to action
Kaunatas youth centre “sails” implemented the youth initiative project “from idea to action” supported by Rezekne, during which the room was organized and visually restored IN Kaunatas in the basement of the People's House, where we can be successful and productive: to prepare decoration festivals, photo areas, create jobs from plywood, pallets, express, realize their ideas, attracting both children, young people and families. The necessary working instruments – a figuresaw and a drilling machine – were purchased for successful start-up.
The young people, together with the visual art teacher, Solvu Meļņichenko, chose the color of the room and all the walls were painted with different color techniques.
To supplement our knowledge in the field of wood processing, we went with young people to the cockpit Erica Ruhman to look at the transformation of the tree, seeing how the upper-household objects from the specific natural tree creations were made. Eric showed his interesting jobs, told them how they were going, what way every business would be to get a beautiful result.
During the project, a list of directions was created with the names of parish buildings (parish administration, pharmacy, ambulance, library), etc. for viewing places located in the parish centre.
In parallel with the project, young people in collaboration with Kaunatas parish administration in the workshop room already created several outdoor decorations from plywood: a car was cut and painted in a summer photozone at the centre of young people, created for the day of decoration travellers, as well as the large “Kaunata” letters were created. The parish visitors, visitors, tourists and residents are offered the opportunity to bring their visit to the “KAUN a” letters. On the other hand, it is the positive and friendly campaign “We're Kaunata”, inviting everyone to become part OF Kaunatas.
Young people included parish works, image creation and information opportunities for both tourists and visitors and the parish people themselves. The activities of the youth centre, the creation and implementation of a long-term result, the success of young people in the project, the realization of young people's ideas, facilitated and diverse leisure opportunities of young people were promoted.
