NVA invites employers to submit jobs for pupils during summer holidays

The National Employment Agency (SEA) branches throughout Latvia, from 7 April to 23 April, accept employers' applications for the implementation of the pupil employment measure in the summer of 2021. 

To apply for the implementation of the measure, employers are invited to a branch of THE SEA in whose service territory the creation of jobs for pupils is planned. An application, a list of jobs offered and a description of the job responsibilities may be submitted by employers to THE SEA branch on the spot, by post or by electronic means to AN e-mail address of the NVA branch, provided that the documents are signed with a secure electronic signature. We recall that students should not be employed in jobs involving increased risk to their safety, health, morality and development. The obligation of employers to ensure compliance with epidemiological safety measures laid down in the State in the workplaces of pupils and the use of personal protective equipment for the prevention of the risk of prevalence of Covid-19 infection. 

When implementing THE NVA pupil summer employment measure, the employer will receive a grant for a monthly salary of 50% from the national minimum monthly wage. If the employer employs a student with disabilities, THE SEA grant will be the minimum monthly salary laid down in the country. THE SEA will pay the health check to the pupil if it is provided for by the laws and regulations on compulsory health checks, as well as the insurance against accidents at the workplace. THE SNA will also pay a grant for the remuneration of the student of the student. 

On the other hand, the employer will have to provide co-financing for wages, taxes and compensation for the pupil for unused leave. The monthly remuneration of pupils for full-time work must be at least in the national minimum wage of EUR 500 before tax. 

During summer holidays in the summer holidays for persons who receive education in general, special or vocational educational institutions, SEA plans to employ 6938 pupils aged 15 to 20 years (including).  

The course of the school summer employment event is planned from 1 June to 31 August, however the timing of the event may be changed if the epidemiological situation in the country is unfavourable.
