The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Development (LATVIA) and the Latvian Environmental Protection Fund Administration (LVAFA) inform that: On the European Commission website On 19 May 2016, a call for the submission of projects to the European Community LIFE Programme for Environment and Climate Subprogrammes was published in 2016. National co-financing is also available for project implementation.

To support the absorption of LIFE programme funding in environmental and climate action sub-programmes and LVAFA Friday, 10 June Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Development organizes THE information seminar OF THE LIFE Programme the preparation and submission of project applications. The workshop will provide an opportunity to obtain information and awareness of THE LIFE programme, its main elements and the opportunities provided, to receive information on calls for proposals, and in particular to obtain clear guidance on the application process — priority areas, project types, funding mechanisms and funding objectives, as well as the possibilities of national co-financing and the errors previously made. About the app

THE LIFE Programme is an instrument funded by the European Union (EU) for environmental and climate action and projects to improve the implementation OF EU environment and climate policy and legislation. LIFE supports projects in two sub-programmes – climate action and environmental sub-programme. THE lifetime OF THE LIFE Programme is from 2014 to 2020 with a total available investment amount of 3,456.7 million euro. National co-financing is also available for the implementation of approved projects.

THE LIFE Programme is active in Latvia from 2001 and 32 projects have been successfully implemented with its support and 12 projects are being implemented.

About the project

Project No. of THE European Commission'S LIFE Programme LIFE14CAP/LV/000002 “Capacity Building for LIFE Programme Implementation in Latvia” (CAP LIFE LAT) is a project designed by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Development (LATVIA) and the Latvian Environment Protection Fund Administration (LVAFA) with a view to promoting the success of PROJECTS of THE LIFE programme in Latvia, providing support to project applicants and performers. A LIFE support unit is set up to achieve the objective where stakeholders can receive advice and advice from experienced experts. The project also provides regular training for LIFE project applicants and promoters, a mentoring programme and an organised special advisory board for more effective achievement of the objectives.
