On April 21, there was an unprecedented event in the Central Library of Rezekne – the first world newspaper, or an exhibition that gathers newspapers from more than 50 countries. And it was noticeable that there was also a couple of 50 guests who were interested in both the unusual newspapers and listened to the presentation of the collector's autopsy.
This compilation and collection builder is Skaidrīte Svikša – the masters of the philosophy, journalist, editor of many books and Korectore, as well as the leader of the journalist group Maltese's children and young people. And as she admitted, this idea came when she started working directly with the people of that group two years ago.
“Mūsdienu young people find it hard to surprise something, but the newspaper from Hong_Kong can. But last year, in the Central Library of Rezekne, he spoke to me and offered to hold a newspaper exhibition, so i focused more on my search. The greatest thanks to my relatives, friends, colleagues and their acquaintances – Latvians living abroad who are“ infected ”by the search for newspapers and who, as they say, now look at the newspapers completely other eyes! My active coordinators: Angelika Cvetkova, Vineta Goltkalne, Olga Chehovich, Welta Olsen, Dace Kursis, Inese Barretta, Daniela Lozda, Santa Zepa, Natalia Stafecka, Ilmārs Apein, Madara Lochmele, Yana Skrivel Cevere, Yelena Kowalevska! But all assistants are mentioned in a separate list that is part of the exhibition.
Thank you also for all the events in the event: especially for her daughter Selena, who helped the newspapers and the special map search for and celebrate certain countries and their flags, THE LEADER of THE LCC publishing house, Mr Jānis Elder, the fathers Svetlanai Skačkova-Marchenko, the representatives of the Maltese BJC, my colleagues in the newspapers, the Rēzekne City Council, thank guests from Varakalans and Mrs Anne Babres from Malta, and all the others. “The purpose of the exhibition was to meet the great newspapers, thank them, and let others expand their vision, tell them how unusual the newspapers might be in other countries in the era when they read less, move to tabloids and electronic format, but not everything is what they look like. There are other tendences!" A lot of new facts about the newspapers were discovered by the presentation, letting you know both journalistic terms and their professions, because the exhibition's author has been working for almost 20 years in journalism.
Inga Kaļva and Aunt Laura Swikis, who was born in the event for the musical notion. But the Maltese BJC methodical Inta Bule all touched the activity where the letter of his name had to be made. But the smaller visitors were able to paint their faces with letters (meister Tatjana Vishnakov), or make a newspaper pens under the direction OF Natalie Stafeck. The opening of the exhibition was very warm, emotional, as the people who appreciate both the authors and the importance of the newspapers.
“If i am useful for one who will understand my noble ideas, i will bless the moment i intend to do this plan …” with the words of the Mayor of Varakalans Manor, Mihala Borha, all interested in the exhibition. Come on, you know the world newspapers and Paplashini.
The exhibitions are to be viewed by the Rezekne CB and, taking into account the requests of visitors, extend its duration – by 6 May (see the website on holidays) www.rezeknesbiblioteka.lv). It should be noted that the exhibition also contains journals and other interesting printed publications. But if you want to get involved in the collection, call (phone) 29263367) and you will participate in the formation of an unusual gift for Latvia!

Each visitor of the event filled out a questionnaire that the author had created in the form of a newspaper and noted his “newspaper TOP 3”, shared impressions. Here are some reviews:
- amazing the huge number of 52 countries! Alphabetical alphabet: the variety of letters; the size of the newspapers, especially the Vatican, including Sri Lanka's so-called “flower letters”. It is a pleasantly surprising idea of the creative idea of Svicky Squis to introduce others to the world newspapers, their diversity, and open the window to the world! Thank you!
- amazing the large range of newspapers, the positive atmosphere of the event. It would be delighted if the pupils had the chance to see these newspapers, to hear Skaidrice's narrative.
– The Pakistani newspaper surprised, the fact that there is another, quite unusual arrangement – letters, photographs, our mentality.
“Metro-reading newspapers — i didn't know about such.” Hawaii - non-traditional design. Singapore, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, in which another script, leaves to the other side. After presentation: amazing big pictures, filling out the inadequate space. I liked the magazine with a hole in the nails.
- amazed necrologists and funerals, with many newspapers paying so much attention. The ability to joke themselves. A bright example – a log that has a hole to hang a toilet on a nail. Diversity - large photographs/small photographs, “stuffed” newspapers/empty newspapers. How much creativity and time newspapers do they spend to get their newspaper different and buy? Thank you for the interesting exhibition!
– the size of the advertising, the size of the pictures; the diversity of standards; the fact that horoscopes are published in seemingly serious publications. In Portuguese newspapers, salmon advertising is located next to political news. In the Vatican, the spacing between the characters is enormous, like the width of white sides. The hieroglyphs in newspapers look best.
On the other hand, after the event, a visitor of a library looked at Sri Lanka's newspaper and photographed it, adding, “I'll send it to Sri Lanka to know and wonder that we have the newspaper of this country in Latvia!”
