Military training will take place in the parish of Rezekne and Luznava
From 23 to 27 May, the National Guard 3 will be held in the territory of Ozolaine and Luznava parish. The 36 th battle of Latgale Brigade supports the training of “Bombardier MAX 650” head of professional service soldiers.
The soldier training programme envisages both maintaining the skills acquired so far and acquiring new skills. The training will involve approximately 10 soldiers who will move through shared and forest roads with military vehicles. The training will mainly take place during the daylight time, except for the night from 24 to 25 May, when the participants will perform tasks in dark conditions. Weapons as well as any kind of ammunition or simulation will not be used during training. In the event of training, the training places will be cleaned up as necessary.
National Guard 3. In Latgale Brigade, the military training process of the militia and soldiers is organised continuously throughout the year, performing various tactical tasks during both summer and winter periods. During regular scheduled training, the national guardsmen shall improve their readiness to protect the National Guard Unit's responsibility areas, develop their abilities and skills for the performance of defence operations and support them.

The attention of the people!
A temporary movement of soldiers and machinery on shared roads will take place in the Rēzekne municipality and in the surrounding area. The National Armed Forces invite the people of Rezekne to treat the National Guard activities aimed at strengthening national defence capabilities.
The National Armed Forces also recall that the spring phase of the military training cycle “NAMEJS 2022”, with several combined international exercises, “Defender Europe”, “Knight Legion”, “Swift Response”, “Summer Shield” and the Estonian Defence Force's major military exercises “Hedgehog”, will be held in Latvia in parallel with the planned combat capacity maintenance training.
During this period in all regions of Latvia – Kurzeme, Vidzeme, Zemgale and Latgale will be the movement of Latvian and Allied soldiers and military equipment along the main and regional roads of the country. In the course of training tasks, a variety of military aircraft including combat helicopters will also be held periodically. “AH-64 Apache” flights in Latvian airspace and these flights shall be carried out in accordance with Latvian laws and regulatory enactments in the field of airspace utilisation.
The National Armed Forces call on the people of all Latvian regions to be treated with awareness of ongoing military exercises aimed at improving national defence capabilities and strengthening regional security.
In order to ensure the awareness of Latvian citizens, in the coming weeks the National Armed Forces will regularly publish the latest information regarding the movement of military equipment of the Allies, the support tasks of the host state and the deployment of Allied Forces to the period of training, as well as the major activities of the training in various Latvian provinces.
