New homepage of the municipality of Rezekne
Today, on 26 January, the website of the new municipality of Rezekne is transferred to the visitors' assessment www.rezeknesnovads.lv. The new website is user-friendly. The information shall be structured in accordance with Cabinet regulations, as well as the interests of residents and information search habits. The page design is created according to the new graphic identity of Rezekne and the trends of the development of modern design, as well as the page is technically safe and high-speed.
The main focus on website design was on smart-screen users to facilitate the process of obtaining information via a smartphone or tablet computer. The page responsive design automatically adjusts to different resolution and size screens because, as the statistics show, more than half of the municipality's website visitors are using directly smart devices, and this trend is increasing over the year.
When you design a website, it is particularly advisable that it is easy to perceive and look at people with disabilities, based on THE RECOMMENDATIONS of THE WCAG 2.0, such as the page visitor in the upper toolbar, you can select text size, brightness, and background color, while highlighting the text and clicking the icon with the speaker that appears next to, the text is played aloud.
As far as so far, the new website will also ensure the availability of administrative information, provide the people of Rezekne with e-services, binding regulations, forms, questionnaires and other public documents, inform the local government events, the basic tasks of the activity, the decisions taken and the services provided, as well as ensure the participation of the public in the decision-making of the local government, including the possibility to ask questions and follow the meetings of the council. On the new website each parish association and each parish have their own section. Create the content of these sections for the people themselves.
The content of the page is currently available in Latvian, but the convenience of residents and tourists during this year is planned to provide machine translation in Russian and English. There are still sections on the website that are at the development stage, but only using the website can we improve it and make visitors even more comfortable.
More than 90 GB of data was migrated to see the content of the current site on the new page. If one gigabyte data is equal to a book tower at a height of three-storey building, then the amount of 90 gigabytes information could be assimilated to several skyscrapers. When you migrate such large amounts of data, errors may occur, so you can report if you notice any inaccuracy. The website was produced BY SIA “sem.lv” for a total amount of Eur 15015 (excluding value added tax). The contract amount includes the design and implementation of the website as well as the maintenance fee for one year.
