Four young pupils in Rēzekne municipality

In mid-June, the municipality of Rēzekne has received three buses for the carriage of pupils, two of which have already been transferred to Sakstagala and Bērzgales parish administrations. No decision has yet been taken on the passage of the third 19-local Mersedes-Benz Sbus bus. This will be done by the local government following the evaluation of the pupils' route and children's flows. In order to ensure the carriage of pupils in a safe and convenient vehicle, by the end of this month, a new bus is also hoped to receive a parish administration OF Vērēmu.

Financing for the purchase of buses has been granted from the State basic budget programme “Implementation of social security network measures” in the world bank loan funds. The price of one bus is 37,7 thousand lats, of which 90% is covered by the State, while co-financing of 10% and bus maintenance costs are provided by the municipality of Rezekne. Like the Latvian - Swiss co-operation programme buses, these are orange.

Even more than a half years of pupils carry Audriņu, Nagļu, Maltas parish administration and Maltas special boarding school. As the drivers asked whether they were satisfied with the quality of the vehicles, the answers were very similar – a new, wonderful machine that did not deliver technical problems. But the children enjoy the orange color, which allows them to see the bus as soon as they wait for the bus. It is hoped that all four buses received under the social safety network programme will be equally smoothly on the Rēzekne District.

It should be noted that Vērēmu parish administration receives the last bus, in total there will be 36 buses in the municipality of Rezekne, with which the carriage of pupils is carried out. Four of them - buses of the social safety network programme, six - Latvian-Swiss co-operation programme buses, while the others have been purchased as parish administrations or from the State budget earmarked grant for infrastructure development (200 thousand).
