Project implemented in Rikava to support young people

SIA “flame”, registered in Rēzekne Municipality Rikavas parish, Rikava, implemented the project “forward – together!” from 1 February 2021 to 31 January 2022. It was a work project within the framework of the European Solidarity Corps programme, which provided an opportunity for young people with reduced opportunities. The aim of the project was to provide young people with fewer opportunities, support and job opportunities, helping them improve their skills and experience, thereby contributing to their employment and a successful transition to the labour market.

SIA “flame” is a socially responsible company. In implementing this project, the professional development of the company was encouraged, as well as the possibility of further involvement in the activities of solidarity, and experience was gained in the implementation of projects. The project mentor was also a major role. Together with young people, he carried out a variety of tasks within the framework of the project, which contributed to the acquisition of new skills and knowledge of young people.

The project provided a unique opportunity for young people TO gain experience and engage in the labour market while addressing important societal challenges. Young people gave a positive example to other young people.

The knowledge gained during the project helped young people to improve their skills and experience, thereby promoting their employment. Activities improved their skills and competences for personal, social, civic, cultural and professional development.

The European Union is based on solidarity: a common value that is strongly felt throughout European society. The European Solidarity Corps brings together young people to form a more inclusive society that supports vulnerable people and responds to societal and humanitarian problems. It provides an inspiring and convincing experience for young people who want to help, learn and develop and provide a single contact point for access to such solidarity activities throughout the European Union and beyond.

The specific objective of the European Solidarity Programme is to provide young people, including those with fewer opportunities, with easily accessible opportunities to engage in solidarity activities which contribute to a positive change in society, both within and outside the Union, while improving and properly recognising their competences as well as promoting their permanent involvement as active citizens.

Thanks to the support of the European Solidarity Corps, the Rēzekne municipality took THE opportunity to participate in the project and gain experience.

The project “forward – together!” was financed by the support of the European Commission's European Solidarity Corps, which is administered by the youth international programme agency in Latvia.
