Ringing tower restored in sarounds
The Sarkanes are a special, quiet place - a real peacekeeper IN THE parish OF Lendžu. This place has preserved the premature and peculiar beauty of the Latvian landscape and is one of the oldest festivals. The history of Latgale is an ancient history of the Catholic Catholic Church.
The first known Catholic Church in Sarkanes has been a small wooden building built in the 17.gs-18 th century or at the beginning of the 18 th century. The present church church was built in 1830. The god is familiar with the famous Virgin Marie painting - the destination of ancient pilgrims. Sarkanes are regarded as one of the oldest festivals in Latgale.
Next to the Holy Roman Catholic Church of the Holy Virgin of Sardinia, there is a bell tower, a monument of national significance. It is a square Pantheon on 8 brick stone columns, covered with arches and four-corner roof. Calls attached to the beams. The bell tower is an integral part of the Red Church. With the bells of the bells of the bell, the pilgrims are expected, the beginning of the service is reported.
A call tower with separate changes, but a high degree of authenticity is 19.gs from the second half. However, over time, its structures are badly damaged. The technical condition of the call tower was significantly deteriorating by the rainy autumn 2017 and subsequent cold winter with a lasting island and snow. The basics were distorted, the brick wall columns lost vertically, the building threatened with collapse.
In 2018, architectural artistic inventory was carried out with the funding of the National National Cultural Heritage Administration (VNKMP) and the co-financing of the parish, the survey of technical condition and the construction of the call tower (preservation).
In 2020, a call tower restoration project was developed for a total of 32 and a half thousand euros. VNMKP was awarded EUR 20 000.00, EUR 8 000.00 was awarded by the municipality of Rezekne, the co-financing programme for the preservation of cultural monuments, the rest of the financing – the parish donations.
The restoration works were performed BY SIA “Inteco Wood”, the removal and repair of the calls was taken by Leon Jerumane and Aivars Mediniks. On Thursday, November 12, in the presence of the strongest men of the parish and THE REPRESENTATIVES of THE Latgale regional division, the bells were installed in the restored bell tower. On Sunday, in the Roman Catholic Church of the Roman Catholic Church of the Red Virgin Mary, the parish took part in prayer for the successful zvanu and restoration of the bell tower.
It should be noted that the reconstruction work of the Red Church was carried out under THE EAFRD project in 2018.
