LATLIT_logo_LAT_full_RGB At the beginning of December of December, the borlänge municipal council visited representatives of social services from six Latvian and Lithuanian municipalities - project LLI-349 “Aging in Comfort” partner. At the time of the visit, a number of care home providers were visited, meetings were held with various experts who talked about the aspects of the regulatory documents governing the social care of the Swedish national and local government, sharing experience on the general organisation of the provision of care home in Borlängé. In the local government of borlänge in general, the services of the care home are provided by 21 services, 14 of which are home-care services, one service specialised in the care of persons with dementia at home, one relatives support centre, one institution providing nurse services at home, one night care home provision centre, one centre for physiotherapy and ergotherapy services and one service providing support to other services where necessary. 12 cars are available for the provision of care home for professionals. The population of the borlänge administrative territory is approximately 50 000. On the second day of the visit, the participants visited Borlänge in the municipality of Borlänge, where he met Erika Sjöblom, head of the care home service service and Magnusu Larsson, the leader of the municipal care home service development. They talked about the organisation of the social care of older people, ranging from political aspects to the general organisation, the best methods of care. In the aftermath of the care home, coordinators presented the I-Care planning system, its practical activities and the procedures for assessing the needs of the care home in the municipality. At the end of the day, the centre of technical assistants was visited. The installation of a video surveillance system in the customer's home is becoming widespread in Sweden, which allows social workers to arrive at the customer as soon as possible. Currently, the most common remote social service call equipment is an alarm button/device located at the client's home. After receiving the call, the specialists at the care home must arrive within 11 minutes. The support services of customer relatives, which include psychological, socialisation, practical, informative assistance to persons whose family members receive care home services, are seriously ill or have suffered losses. On the third day, the participants visited the Borlänge relatives support centre, where they met with its manager Elizabeth Gruning. In the negotiations, the nurses involved in the services of the care home, the co-ordinators of the ergotherapist service, and the participants of the project also met a care specialists such as the inspiration. A visit to the day-to-day call centre “Gylle” was organised, the home care housing service service and the day centre for people with dementia. The Swedish social care system is based on the individual needs of each client, ensuring a high level of social welfare for both the client and his family members, the inclusion of each client as a full member of the public and the availability of social services 24 hours a day, 7 days per week.
