This year Latgale Forest Days will be held in Ozolaine
On Friday, October 9, the environmental enthusiastics from all Latvia will gather in primary school for the forest days, inviting them to participate in Latgale local government specialists.
Within the framework of the event, a seminar will be held, “We will be working in smart local forests and parks!”, in which the Director-General of the Environmental Protection Administration Andrejs Svilāns, THE Director-General of Latvia's National Forest Management Planning Planning Manager Dainis Rudzites, will be told about the gardens and contemporary trends. In contrast, environmental designer, gardener Dina Zvejsalnieks from Nautrēnu parish will share his information on jobs in forests and parks in Rezekne municipality. Under the direction of Dainas Fisherniece, the Laizāns Park will be acquainted, which is a valuable source of consciousness in order to obtain a broader picture of Latvia's diverse nature. In addition to the forest-day participants, the Laizāns Park will introduce new plants such as the woolen pumpkin, the clock forsyria, the signature willow, the smooth carpet and other trees and bushes. It is necessary to say that the primary school pupils are active in an educational event before 9 October, or Prieditte, or a tree! “by gaining new information regarding forest care, the significance of trees in the landscape, along with AS“ Latvian state forests ”, the northern Latgale forestry specialists are going to expedition to the municipality forests and find positive examples and places where renovation or recovery works are necessary, alongside the observation of the biological diversity of tree and bush species.
It should be noted that in Latvia such seminars and practical activities take place in five municipalities. This will be the third seminar in Ozolaine. Forest Day is implemented within the framework of the forest development fund project.
