Zanis bears the absolute victory in the international Russian language Olympics in Moscow
From December 4 to December 9, THE XV International Russian Language Olympics was held in Moscow, organised by the Russian-language institute of Moscow Pushkin.
The Olympiad took place in three stages. The first two stages took place in a non-spot. They showed their knowledge in Russian (as a foreign language), performing tests and writing an essay. Around 2,000 applicants from 47 countries to the 3 rd stage in Moscow were invited to 152 participants from 29 countries. Four secondary students were represented by Latvia, including two Maltas secondary school students – Žanis bear and Jekaterina Bebrishša.
The organisers of the Olympics had taken care not only of a variety of inspection works, but also of the life and educational programme. Students had the opportunity to see Moscow's most important places, to be in a geological museum and planetary. Several Moscow schools were visited, where the Olympics were very warm.
As students themselves recognise, it is important that it was an opportunity to meet peers from different countries of the world. Our schools were friends with pupils from Lithuania, THE USA, Romania, Austria, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan.
There is a great deal of satisfaction with the results. Jekaterina has obtained a certificate of participation in the Olympiad, but the Gianis bear has become an absolute winner. He obtained a degree 1 diploma and a certificate that allows students to study in Moscow University. This is the highest achievement that Latvian pupil has won since the country is represented in this international Olympics.
Thank YOU FOR THE Maltas secondary school teacher Regina Bikovich, whose pupils motivated and prepared to participate in this Olympiad. Maltas High School thanked the Rēzekne municipality for its support.
