Griškānu parish in Sprudzeau village took place in a pond hockey tournament 3 against 3

At one of the January Sundays, 13 January, Griškānu parish in Sprudzew was an unprecedented event - “pond hockey tournament 3 vs 3”, with four teams in the youth group (aged 14-17), as well as six teams in adult competition (over 18 years). Teams from Rēzekne, Feimaņiem, Kaunatas, Ozolaines, Vectrushans, and Rēzekne City, Viļāniem and Riga were invited to this event.
Despite the rather negative weather conditions (snow snow) and the quality of ice, the mutual struggle for prizes was very strong in both age groups. As the first on the ice, youth teams were climbing. The teams from Griškānu parish Sprudzevo village (“Sprudzeva Team” team) and Kaunatas civil parish (“Kaunatys young” team). The result of 1: 0 was celebrated by young people from Kaunatas parish. The next game was the team “Ozo” from Ozolaines parish and Feimaņu parish youth team, who celebrated a convincing win with a score of 3: 0. At the end of three games, the team won the team from Feimaņiem, the second place won Kaunatas young people and the 3 rd place was taken by the team “Ozo” from Ozolaines parish.
After the youth tournament came a turn to get to the ice for real men. After the ice-cleaning as the first adult tournament, HK “Ritty” and “Feimaņi” were started, and in this duel win 3: 1 won THE HK “Ritiņi” team. After this game, “Krendzels” from Old Vecstrūžāniem and “Unisone” from Rezekne appeared on ice. In an intense struggle, both teams played an unseparated 2: 2 and each team won 1 score. In turn, as the third team of teams appeared in teams from Riga (HK “SKM”) and Viļāniem. With the result of 2: 0, the team was celebrated BY HK “SKM” from Riga. Playing the first game of games from the tournament was Viļāni, but it did not worsen team competition and, after four games, it was possible to determine the teams that would win the prizes. It must be acknowledged that the results were very dense and the distribution of places varied according to the outcome of the mutual games. There was also a team from Feimaņiem in the adult competition, while the 2 nd place was won by a team from Rezekne named “Unizone”, but the 3 rd place came to a team from Riga named HK “SKM”. The shared 4 th place was won by “Krendzels” and HK “Ritiņi”.
It was a great pleasure that there were so many teams in the first Griškānu parish tournament. This makes it possible that this kind of tournament will become a tradition and attract more hockey enthusiasts.
