The President of the European Parliament, Antonio Tajani, opened a new website on Wednesday, showing examples of EU progress in improving the lives of citizens.

• readily perceived information on THE PROGRESS made BY THE EU in improving human life
fast and convenient selection of information by region, profession, industry
According to the Eurobarometer survey results published in October 68% Europeans believe that their country has benefited from EU membership. Despite this, so far there has been little attempt to list the benefits of THE EU to people in all Member States. Before the European elections in May of the following year, this website will present the positive changes made by THE EU.
The interactive and all EU languages “what Europe is doing”, in which the information to be found is collected by the European Parliament's research service, offers hundreds of easy-to-understand examples of one page about the positive changes made BY THE EU in human life. Users can find examples of their regions, professions, or hobbies in the page.
“Europeans ask what THE EU has done for them and that this new language of the European Parliament gives clear answers. This will be a valuable tool for bringing THE EU closer to its citizens," said Mr Tajani on Wednesday.
There are about 1800 single-page material available to meet, share, or download as PDF files. They are divided into two parts. In the first part, “in my region” - visitors can choose the region of interest and learn about THE EU's contribution to cities and regions. This section covers over 1400 areas across THE EU.
In the second section, “in my life”, users can meet one of 400 single-page materials explaining the impact of Europe on family, health, hobbies, travel or security. How does Europe support tens of people employed by different professions? How has Europe helped people who are exciting sport? This section also contains a number of aplāžu (Podcasts) in a growing number of languages.
The materials to be found on the page offer an interesting basis for a snapshot of THE EU's work, not a comprehensive list of all EU activities.
They will be complemented by the third section of the page: a more comprehensive review of EU policies. They will discuss the progress made in the current parliamentary term, as well as analyse the work to be carried out in the future, with a particular focus on citizens' views on THE eu's most important challenges.
The page has been drawn up by Parliament's research service in collaboration with Parliament's communication and translation services.
