On Sunday, 23 September, a fourth year will be presented to the great Latgale teachers of Monsignor Nicodema Ranana. This time, the award ceremony, which could also be called Latgale teacher day, will be held in the Preiles Cultural House.
This year, the Nikodema Ranana Prize competition has been nominated by 15 nominations, the achievements of which are evaluated in five nominations - 1) on the promotion and implementation of Latgalian language, cultural history, municipality training in the study or study environment, 2) on innovative methodological applications in the learning process, 3) on a modern and creative approach to the education of pupils' work and the training of positions, 4) on the success of the student Debbie, 5) on the development of the Latvian and Latgalic cultural environment in pre-school educational institutions (first year).
The Nikodema Ranana Prize was founded in 2015 on honorary Latgale public employee, clerk and educator N. Ranana. The aim of the competition is to raise the prestige of the teacher's profession, to draw the attention of the general public to the Latgalic values. The site of the final event is changed every year - in 2015 - in the Rēzekne Technology Academy, in 2016 - in Ludza, in 2017 - Viļānos, but this year the teachers are invited by Preiļi, where Nikodam Ranāns has worked for several years.
This year is supported by the Rēzekne Technology Academy, Preilu, Ludza, Vilaka, Prize, Livana, Rēzekne Municipality and Latgalian cultural association.
Participants of previous competitions, as well as any interested party, are invited to participate in the final event. As usual, the latest editions of Latgale schools, libraries, museums will be given.
