Invited to submit candidates for the Latvian Year of Cultural Heritage “Boņuks 2019”

On February 23, 2020, in Rēzekne, Latgale Embassy GORE, a ceremony of the annual Latgalian cultural year “Boņuks” will be held, which is also one of the most anticipated meetings of Latvian cultural activists and stakeholders. By January 6, GORE invited bidders to submit “Boņuks 2019”. Clay statuettes will receive 11 Latgalic cultural activities, events, processes and personalities. “Boņuks” is the only prize that highlights and honors the achievements and the progress made in the life of Latgalian culture.
The goal of the Latgalian cultural year “Boņuks” is to promote the preservation and development of the Latvian cultural environment, as well as to collect and honour the brightest and most important achievements in Latgalian culture in the last year. Applicants may be awarded in the categories “language”. Literature. Publicity, “activities.” Events. Personalities and “audio.” The video ”, from which the jury will nominate 30 nominations and 10 awards – activities, personalities, events, works, without which the Latgalian culture in 2019 is not the most likely. The annual “Boņuks” award ceremony of the Latgalian cultural year is not only a reflection on the last year's work, but also the meeting of people active in Latgalian culture, stakeholders and supporters. The “Boņuks 2019” ceremony will be held on 23 February 2020, its management at this time will be at the hands of “Ghetto Games” personality or simple Latgalian Laura Zalāns, as well as a doctor and a new hip-hop artist, Bours (Armanda's brother). In the ceremony, the postfolklore group “rikis”, the group “excluding VAT”, the Rēzekne blowing instrument orchestra and the men's choir “Gbroadcasting” with fragments from “Dzeivis graidi”, the folklore set “river”, the musician Dana Vasilyeva, the folklore set “Ilja” and other artists whose names will be discovered by approaching the ceremony.
Prior to the “Boņuks 2019” ceremony, every lead is invited to the opening of the exhibition dedicated to the centuries of the painting, graphic and art scientist Jura Soikāns (1920-1995). The theme of the artist's work will also be reflected in the awards ceremony of the award ceremony.
At the beginning of that year, the “Boņuks 2018” prizes of the Latgalian cultural year received the ten most active, brightest and most widely resonant Latgalian cultural events, personalities, projects in 2018. The artist Osvalds Zvejsalnieks was honoured for his lifelong contribution to the development of Latgalian culture.
The Latgalian cultural year “Boņuks” was first presented in 2009, but since 2013 the Award was organised by Latgale Embassy GORE team. “Boņuks 2019” is supported by the Latvian Culture Capital Foundation Latgale cultural programme with the support of A/S “Latvian State Forests” and the Latgale Region Development Agency, as well as the City Council of Rezekne.
