We are invited to visit the Aviation Day of Rezekne

On August 9, from 10.00 on the morning of Rēzekne, Audriņu parish, all interested parties are invited by an unprecedented event — an aviation day of Rezekne, where everyone will be able to look at the romantic aviation world, observe pilot demonstration and paraplan flights. The brave ones can get high in the air to look at how beautiful Latgale is from the bird's flight. The event will also cover the thematic exhibitions of the State Border Guard and the National Guard.

The aviation festival will be able to look at several dozens of private aircraft and aircraft held by border guards and NBS air forces, with which complex and responsible rescue or border control operations are carried out on a day-to-day basis. Demonstration of several examples of such aeromobile operations on the day of aviation can also be observed at the site, including the National Border Guard Aviation Administration Aviation Service, together with the security and special task service “Sigma”, will demonstrate the training tasks “fire-fighting with helicopter fire-fighting equipment”, “evacuation of the victim with a helicopter equipped with stretchers” and “detention of offenders”. At the end of the festival, there will be an opportunity to watch the heads of “Pitts Monster” in the air.
The aviation festival will be visited by Minister of Interior Rihards Kozlovskis, representatives of the Ministry of Transport and Defence, chief of the State Border Guard General Normunds Garbars, Commander of NBS Air Force Aviation Base, Colonel Aivars Mežor, Director of State Border Guard College, Colonel Liepins and others.
The most convenient aviation day may be personal transport. Parish buses will also be assigned to the parish councils from the municipality of Rezekne (about the time of departure in parish councils). You can also go to the festival with a public bus Rēzekne – Mésar (from the Rēzekne autoport bus, arrives at 14:20). On 9 August, this route has been extended to the aerodrome. Back from airport with bus, you can ride at 14:50 and 18:40.
Ticket price: 2 EUR, family ticket – 5 EUR. For students, students, pensioners – 1 EUR. For children under 7 years of age, disabled persons in Groups 1 and 2: free admission.
