Women's International Basketball tournament in Belarus

At the end of February, the women's basketball team took part in the international basketball tournament, which took place in the ancient Belarusian city of Polocka. The competition was held in subgroups where the Latvian team (Rezekne municipality), 2 teams from Belarus (Minsk, Polocka) and 2 teams from Russia (Velikije Luki and Pleskava). After a warm welcome to our team with bread and salt, we were welcome to Polocka - one of the most ancient cultural centres of trade and orthodox Christianity in the European UNION. The day followed the opening of a solemn competition, where we could listen to the performance of the Polocka orchestra and observe the demonstration of the sport of young people. And a ball in the game... The fight, and the athletic assault, allowed one, one of the other teams, but the winner, in each of the games, was only one, and after the first day matches, the final of the Rēzekne council and the Minsk team came into the final. The 3 rd place was acquired by a team from Velikije Luki, who was conspicuously winding the team. The game's 1 st place expanded rather intense and similar, however, our “fracture” point was the second quarter when the Minsk team managed to realize a number of precise three-point litters and increase the result of the result by 15 points. Although the Rēzekne municipality won 2 nd place, this result did not change our delight and joy for this tournament, in which we were able to participate, thanks to the support of the municipality of Rezekne and the sports specialist Igor Derjagin.
