Apprize the memorial signs of the Chernobyl Emergency Library

On October 4, a solemn event was held in the municipality of Rēzekne, which served the members of the Chernobyl AES emergency relief members from Rezekne, Ludza, Carsava, Dagda and Viļānu.
Speaking to the participants of the event, the President OF the Rēzekne District Council, Monvīds Švarcs, said that those who participated in the elimination of the consequences of the Chernobyl AES emergency struggled with the world's largest technogenic disaster: “You did not ask if you would like to go to Chernobyl, you were sent there in a warrior mode.” The severity of the effects was between 20 and 40 years, the maturity itself. You all worked to save society, save humanity, and that is an example of heroism and self-esteem. We can learn from you our new generation. Thank you! '
The event was given by Minister of Interior Rihards Kozlovskis, the participants of the event were welcomed by local government representatives.
By mentioning the Chernobyl accident, the Latvian state has created a special memorial sign for the elimination of the consequences of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. It may be presented to persons who participated in the operations of the Chernobyl AES and which have been issued a Certificate of Emergency Response of Chernobyl AES.
So far, the commemorative signs of the Chernobyl AES accident have been given to 1457 emergency relief participants from all over Latvia. The festive events took place in both the Ministry of Interior and Latvian municipalities. The meetings of the commemorative mark have been held in Meadows, Jelgava, Kuldīga, Limapos, Valmiera, Gulbene, Madona, Talsi, Liepaja and Daugavpils.
A memorial mark may be granted to a Latvian citizen, a non-citizen, as well as a foreigner who has a permanent residence permit in Latvia. If the awarding person is dead, the commemorative mark shall be given to his or her spouse or descendants, but if the top-down is not, then the nearest higher-ranking relatives or brothers and sisters.
Recommendations for the award of candidates shall be evaluated by the Commission. To sign up for the receipt of a memorial mark, contact the Ministry of Interior or the Latvian Union Chernobyl.
32 years ago - on April 26, 1986, the fourth reactor of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant was an accident that was one of the largest civilian disasters in the history of humanity. The people involved in the elimination of the consequences of the accident carried out emergency relief efforts without thinking about danger and consequences. Around 800,000 people, including six thousand Latvian residents, took part in the emergency relief efforts of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.
