Approved work project of Kaunatas Catholic Church

Kaunatas Catholic congregation has received a decision by LAD East Latgale Regional Agricultural Administration on the approval of the project “Kaunatas Catholic Church's inner finishing work” No 19-01-AL15-a019 .2201-000014. The project is supported in the sub-measure “Implementation of activities under the community-led local development strategy” of the European Agricultural Latvia Rural Development Programme 2014-2020. “Conservation and promotion of cultural history, natural heritage, improved public infrastructure”. The objective of the project to be implemented is to promote the preservation of the cultural historical monument, the identification of the values of intangible heritage and the transfer thereof.
The repair works of the church were not carried out practically from the time of its construction in 1850. In the course of time, the dyeing or bleaching of the secondary walls shall be carried out by the forces of the parish members and, as far as possible, the correction of the partial finishing. In THE 60-70 s OF THE XX century, the church's authentic ceiling was replaced by compressed dyed cardboard adhesives. The realization of the project involves the construction of the inner veneer of the church building and the restoration of the authentic wooden board of the grass ceiling.
An active portable sound and wireless headset are planned to be purchased for development and expansion. The previous LEADER project purchased and made available to visitors the interactive touch screen with the church's historical and informative material. As part of an approved project, it is intended to record directly Kaunatas-friendly lithurgical songs and put it in the interactive stand.
The total cost of the project is EUR 30000.00, including the public EAFRD funding OF 90% – EUR 26999.99 and the co-financing of THE municipality OF Rēzekne in Kaunatas parish government co-financing 10% – EUR 3000.00. The deadline for implementation of the project is August 2021.
