The newly formed band Riga Baroque ensemble invites on March 11, pl. 15.00 Lūznavas on the concert “music for silent week from Antwerp Cathedral” dedicated to Easter waiting time in the red hall of the manor.
During the concert, musicians offer listeners to meet the previously unheard musical music of Latvia, which is dedicated to suffering before Easter, thus encouraging new discoveries in European music. This time it will not be all the known Pergolese “Stabat mater” or one of Baha's passports, but the world is currently unlikely to be the sound of Joseph Hector Fiocco (1703 –1741) and Willem de Fesch (1687 –1761). The musical activity of both composers is linked to Belgium, where they have held the position of capelmaster in Antwerp onze-lieve-Vrouwekathedraal cathedral.
The concert programme will play Josef Hector Fioko, two chellies and Basso continuo and William de Fesh sonata for the Vijolei Basso continuo op. 4 No 1, re in the minority. These two Flemish baroque musical pearls in the concert will sound in the context of the text written by the poet Anne Ranāne.
Riga Baroque ensemble is a new ancient music group in Latvia, which consists of historic interpreters who have studied and established contacts in Latvia, Switzerland, Germany, Netherlands: promising baroque soprane Aija Veismane-Garkevich, baroque violinist Anna Naudžūne, the artistic leader and baroque chelliste of the baroque music day in Rezekne Ilze Grudule, baroque chelliste Danuta Lochmele, theory Martin Garkevics and the claspinist Veronica Rinkule.
