More and more young people are involved in the activities of the project “do and do”
Since last year, the European Social Fund project “namely and do” is being implemented throughout Latvia, including Rēzekne District, as activities are invited to participate in young people aged 15-29, who do not receive, work or receive trade, as well as are not registered in the State Agency of Employment as jobseekers. 18 young people, including Mara from Griškānu parish and Ruth from Dricāniem, have been involved in project activities in Rezekne municipality.
“Mom in the newspaper“ Rēzekne Ambassador ”found an article about the project and offered me. At first i threw a hand, which i would go, but then i thought about it. Because i'm not working at this time, i decided to sign up,“ i'm going to be involved in the project. ”After completing secondary school, Mara studied at the University of Latvia, then returned to her mother's side:“ I have always been convinced that we must first look at the possibilities. ”Not looking at the distance, but watching what's around. '
Mara is always interested in sewing – when she was a child with her grandmother's sewing machine she had made her skirt, and even now that one of the housekeepers had broken up, Mara always did help, so the girl was already engaged in the project to learn more about the stitching, and make sure that the stitching really was the right direction to run. As part of the project, Mara completed the sewing courses in Riga. It should be noted that the course did not place on the spot because the group failed to complete the group, but the individual lesson would be more expensive than you went to the course in Riga.
Mara also visits the local sewing workshops: “I was in association Viļānos, where very beautiful dolls are made with fine, varied detail.” I was also in Charles, the fashion cabin “LAGA” where Gunta Nagle was born, as well AS Vērēmu parish at the garment artist Welgas Krukovsk. Every visit received useful knowledge not only about sewing issues but also on how to initiate, build and develop a business. "This information baggage will be very useful for the Mother in his dream of his own embellishment or fashion cabin.
Each young person involved in the project has a mentor with whom he meets several times a month to discuss whether all the activities selected are satisfied, or there is no problem and uncertainty. The mentors are also inspired by the project participants, such as Mara, along with her mentor Leila Rasima, agreed that Ozolaines parish young people Mara will manage creative workshops to teach different sewing techniques as well as embroidery.
On the other hand, Ruth's news of the opportunity to participate in the project has been read on the social network Facebook. When she met the project manager Lily Schodnnak, Ruth told her about her wishes and interests, which was largely aligned with the seven months of the young Ruth's daughter Agnes: “I'm going to share my mother's club and babies' school classes, for example, with folklorists Sandra rays studying singing songs,” says Ruth. “As i'm a young mother, it's very valuable to talk to other babies' mothers and find out a lot of uncertain questions.” Ruth also visits floristic courses where, as she says herself, she learns a wide range of skills that will surely be useful for the predecessors.
Both young people say in a convincing manner that the project is very useful and recommends it to others: “by participating in the project, you don't lose anything.” Even if the final result is not what you expected, you'll get a good experience in any event. Young people must not be afraid, but come and take part, 'says Mara. She also joins Ruth: “For young people who did not do anything so far, this is like a kick-off board.” Those who have sat in the countryside, this project breaks out from the routine and helps to launch something new. In addition, the people involved in the project are very supportive and motivating. They're not compelling, but inspire you.'
