Supported project application for 1 TP22T church roof repair

Kaunatas Catholic congregation has received a decision on the approval of project No 17-01-AL15-a019 .2201-000007 “Extension of the availability of the cultural historical heritage of THE Kaunatas Catholic Church and the renewal of the roof cover”. The project is supported by the “Rēzekne District Communities Partnership” in the sub-measure “Implementation of activities under the community-led local development strategy” of the European Agricultural Latvia Rural Development Programme 2014-2020. “Conservation and promotion of cultural history, natural heritage, improved public infrastructure” (application registration number 2017/AL15/2/A019 .22 .01/8).

The objective of the project to be implemented is to promote the preservation of the traditional cultural heritage by attracting modern interactive technologies and restoring the roof cover of the church.

THE Kaunatas Catholic Church will be placed in Latvian national buildings, including Kaunatas parish, innovative device - interactive touch-sensitive display with historically informative and knowledgeable educational content material on church history, priests, photo documentaries and historical evidence.

In April 2016, THE Church of THE Catholic Church OF Kaunatas carried out the technical survey of the church building, the roof and the attic. The most significant damage is found in the roof cover and the carnival area. The roof coverings of the church were made from galvanised tin material, which was rated by specialists on 85-95%. Certain elements of the roof cover are in an emergency position. The project includes building roof renovation works: the dismantling of the old tin cover of the church and the simplified renovation of the tin roof cover at a total area of 660 m ²; anti-condensate film for the protection of the roof from moisture and the efficiency of the building's thermal preservation will be applied.

Sources of the total financial resources of the project: public EAFRD funding OF 90% - EUR 27000,00; co-financing of the municipality OF Rēzekne at Kaunatas parish government co-financing OF 10% - EUR 3000,00 (three thousand euros); Kaunatas The co-financing of the Visholy Virgin Marie's Catholic parish (ineligible costs) of EUR 8104.44.

The deadline for implementation of the project shall be 10 May 2019.
