Education

As from September 2018, the Primary School of Verham, like other Latvian schools, implements the “Latvian School Finish” programme, in which every student is given the opportunity to experience Latvia, to know and explore values and cultural space. This strengthens the national identity of the new generation, the awareness of citizenship and nationality as well as the development of cultural awareness. All students of the Primary School of Verham had the opportunity to participate free of charge in at least two activities during this semester.
The primary school classes were active in the museum of Latgale culture, where they participated in various museum pedagogical activities: “as a top bread?”, “clay pixel adventures”, “first exhibition”, “mysteries of subterranean depths”. During these sessions, the pupils expanded their vision, learned new terms, recognized ancient words, actively collaborated, listened carefully and watched, felt the roles of researchers, and expressed their opinion. These are the knowledge and skills necessary not only at school but also in life.
The primary school classes had the opportunity to visit the National Society's cultural house “Joriks”, where they were given several performances – “God.” Nature. Work. “,“ Veidenbaum. ”Live,“ write me tonight ”. Students welcomed the performance of actors and poets who could be interested and exciting. During each performance, pupils were encouraged to think about moral values and each gave them an opportunity to look at themselves.
Students of the 9 th class, waiting for Latvia's centuries, visited the film's “father night” premiere in the cinema. The pupils acknowledged that the film liked the film because there was a better understanding of the Holocaust, the behaviour and values of the people. The film made you think about courage, responsibility, and situations that are or cannot be influenced by ourselves.
In the autumn excursion of classes 5-6, students went to Alūkson and visited the Alūksne Nature Museum, where they gained knowledge of the various processes and developments in nature and watched its diversity. The artistic design of collections, which brightens emotional pleasure, is particularly vivid.
The 3 rd class went to Latgale Embassy GORE, where he visited the Latvian doll Theatre exhibition “foot engine Caps” where he knew the art of the doll theatre. The pupils were particularly bound by the performance of the show, which was brightened by the image and decoration of the show. The pupils enjoyed aesthetic pleasure and admitted that they would be happy to see another doll of dolls.
At the beginning of December, Inese Grandāne was visited by Inese Grandāne with an interactive lesson “our Latvian Secrets”, in which all school pupils had the opportunity to learn Latvian “secrets” and mysterious places. Primary school students developed skills in the map, while primary school pupils were able to verify their knowledge in geography. The students liked the fact that they had to be active in the lesson. They enjoyed the ingenious tasks of Latvian cities and other natural objects.
All these activities expanded the vision of students, allowed to know the cultural and natural values of Latvia, to be aware of themselves as part of Latvia.
In the next semester, students will continue to be actively acquainted with Latvia and its values in both the art of stage, music, visual art, cinema, literature and other fields of activity.
