At the time of the Adventa, when the thoughts came about Christmas, gifts, decorated trees, and Salatees, Swedbank a contest called “Christmas Christmas”, which invites students in classes 1-4, who will need to make a single-class puzzle. Students of classes 2 and 4 of the Audriņu primary school are also participating in this competition.
In the process of preparing the puzzles, the pupils were introduced to the Latvian traditions, the importance of the puzzles in the ancient and their diversity. So far none of the pupils had made puzzles, but with patience, light thoughts and willingness to participate in the competition, the first pupil formed by pupils.
The puzzle is an ancient ornament made from cane, straw, with great care, putting his positive energy, good thoughts and love into it. The pupils cleaned, cut canes in 12 equal pieces, representing all the months of the year and forming different sizes of puzzles. Both larger and smaller right-handed crystals of good thought, which were tied together, formed a single, jointly formed cane puzzle.
In addition to the 4 th grade puzzle, the following things were needed: the ability to work in the team, the luck of fingers, the diligence, a lot of patience to achieve the goal. We very much hope that we will win the competition, but if not, we have gained valuable skills and emotions, thank you for the competition organisers.
On the other hand, THE 2 nd class children of THE Audriņu primary school visited THE Audriņu parish library, where, along with the librarian Margarita Platonova and the class nurse Oxana Brocani, they examined all available literature about the history of the puzura and met the process of making them.
The work of the pupils themselves with the cutting and preparation of straw began. A pleasant and fun occupation! But there was a pretty heavy and laborious process that required much patience. The straw should have cleared the bark, then using the needle, put the blanks into the thread. Each made at least one particle for the big work.
With the help of the adults, the children connected all parts together, the roster with the natural materials – pupils' hats, chestnuts, chiefs … “we, the other grassmen, just started the school, so the process of puzzle was not easy for us.” However, the work has been done – we made the traditional Latvian People's decoration – puzuri!
