Education

On 23 November, Audriņu primary school pupils moved with teachers to Gulbeni. During the event, Gulbenes - Alūksne Bannes depot and station were visited. Students had an opportunity to look at the Gulbenes depot (for some pupils it was first to meet trains and depths), watch a short film about safety on the rail and listen to the story of what the Gulbenes company was doing. The pupils surveyed the only narrow-track and wide-rail rail in the Baltic States, listening to the story of the renovated narrow-track “Ferdinand”, its history and the principle of operation. The children had the chance to get into the cab and look at it.
Following the visit of the Estonian Communist League, the pupils tested their trips with their hand drifts and Banisha's news - a truck with a wooden tremor that is unique throughout Europe and was restored after historical facts and photographs. The excursion of the pupils ended with the improvised assault of Banisha's legendary robbers and a small hike with obstacles along the forest path. During the event, students knew and understood how people in Latvia are implementing their goals and creative potential.
