Education

For the second year in the course of the secondary education process, in view of career education Audriņu primary school pupils are encouraged to take advantage of the opportunity to participate in “shadow day”.
On 14 February, Jelena Putin and Vladislavs Burov, the 8 th grade school students, visited the national organization “State Probation Service”.
It was quite interesting to know the functions of the organization and to
in doing so, students were introduced to special equipment in their
the activities of the probation service shall be used in the operation, working with his or her clients. The task of the service staff is to make it easy for those who have lost it.
“Shadows” had an opportunity to meet the team, with the leader of the organization, and see the premises of the Rezekne department.
The Rezekne office consists of several rooms, namely: the hall where the meeting takes place.
Head office, the office of the specialists working with the documents and the first floor where the customer is working. After excursion, there was a presentation that could learn more about this profession and ask questions of interest to employees.
Vladislav and Yelen gave a vivid impression on the film, based on real events about people, about their lives and fate, namely the prisoners. It was shown under what circumstances they live what they eat and what they do. Most often people who use narcotic drugs have damaged their health and life, the prison term may damage biography. Some survive prison sentences for 3 and 5 years and some more.
In general, students learned that these professions (probation service employees) help avoid prison term through domestic arrest or remedial/forced labour. They work with people everyday and give them hope, opportunities and prospects. Unfortunately, there are people who lose this opportunity and go to prison. The staff of the probation service shall have a special working regime, both on the day and on the night during the night.
Interestingly, the fact that employees can electronically follow a customer's house arrest by adding a special chip to a customer who has a fixed house arrest in which locations will be tracked, and the offender will be given daily schedule, in-on-how and on which route he can go, for example, at 12:00, the customer can go to the store and at 13:00.
After a meeting, a souvenir was received - a pencil and a whistle named “State Probation Service”.
Audriņu the basic school “shaders” are delighted with the possibility of acquainting with the work of the “State probation service”, its specifics.
As the students say, “we really enjoyed this profession and we could work there in the future because there is a comfortable environment and a friendly team.”
