Aviation enthusiasts met in the first day of the Rēzekne municipality.

On the morning of August 9, the surrounding land and air routes led to the airfield “Rezekne” IN THE parish OF Audriņu, where the first aviation day of Rezekne took place. Although a strong rain was tested in the morning, the time soon followed, and a number of dozens of aircraft could be seen in the sky.

For approximately eight thousand visitors of aviation festivals, there was an opportunity to look at the National Border Guard College and National Guard thematic exhibitions, to look at aeroplanes and how to sit in a pilot's cabin as real aviators, see airplane debts, as well as observe the training tasks of the National Armed Forces (NBS) and Border Guard, including “fire-fighting with helicopter fire-fighting equipment”, “evacuation of the victim with helicopters equipped with stretchers” and “detainees”.

Although, on the day of aviation, these responsible and complex operations were shown as demonstration demonstrations, however, it is the everyday of border guards and NBS professionals when, when competing with seconds and each task with perfect accuracy, these people save lives. For example, in 2011, from the ferry “romance” in the Baltic Sea, a Uzbekistan Castle was built and taken to the hospital, which had begun birth, in 2012 17 fishermen were raised from ice in the Gulf of Riga, while in 2014 NBS's courageous pilots helped to delete forest fires in Lithuania's Kurdish dune.

The chief of aviation, Vilburs Rainit, said that it was possible to fly without the engine, but not without knowledge and skills. On the day of aviation, it was certified brightly by paraplan flights from Riga, who took air currents around 15 metres wide and enjoyed the viewers with unforgettable acrobatic tricks. A number of aviation enthusiasts on the ground were also shown high in the sky as the death loops were twisted with their airplanes. One of the brightest features of the multicolored festival succeeded in the pilot of the plane Pitts Monster, Alexander Brincalov, who, with his “red monster” as he called the plane, showered at a speed of 15 metres per second and threw his head dizziness.

At the end of the festival, the brave could get high in the air to look at how beautiful Latgale was from the bird's flight. The panoramic flights were made with “Cessna 172” aircraft, the world's most popular airplane. “Cessna” also has a reputation as the safest aeroplane, and in addition, it owns a world ilglidation record of 64 days, 22 hours, 19 minutes and 5 seconds. This record was set in 1958, but still has not been rebutted.

It should be noted that the aero-day idea of the Rēzekne municipality is the head of the State Border Guard Aviation Administration, Colonel Alexander Shukšin, who spoke in the spring to the Chairman of the Rēzekne District Council Monweed Schwarz and called for a joint event for border guard pilots, aviation enthusiasts and residents of the surrounding area, at which time the main precondition of aviation festivals is located in the territory of Rezekne District – the aerodrome.

In order for the festival to take place, both the National Border Guard Aviation Administration and the Border Guard College, the National Police, the National Guard and the National Guard and Rescue Service and the Civil Aviation Agency and other services have worked together for several months.

On the day of aviation, when speaking to visitors, Monvīds Švarcs took a favourable time not only for flight flights, but for idea flights to the visitors of the event, from which someone, inspired by the festival, might decide to associate their lives with aviation at a professional level. As a promises organiser, if there is an interest in the flight and from the visitors, the aviation day could henceforth become one of the traditional activities of Rezekne municipality.
