The association “Centre for Eastern Latvian Creative Initiatives” has implemented the project “through ancient Latgale Forests”

At the end of May, the Rēzekne municipality of Rēzekne was accompanied by travel and historical information. Under the direction of the host and historian Mars Romaka, the trip along South Latgale was particularly interesting and diverse.

We met the first Latvian university in Kraslava, the Karnicka hill, listening to the legend of Emily's tragic love story. We learned that the parish OF Feimaņu and Pušas had been managed by Mr Schadurski. We looked at his planted laggles, now surrounded by the graves of his family. We enjoyed the picturesque nature of Kraslava and its surrounding area, the people called Latgale Switzerland, visited the Wales, visited the Kraslava Museum, knew the fittings and dishes of the last century. We met Latgale's most important cultural history monuments. During the trip, we visited the 5-year-anniversary event of the Rēzekne Municipality Center – we saw how the old water turbine station had been converted to unrecognizable, what wide-ranging recreational opportunities for tourists it offers today. We went to Luban, visiting the most ancient Baltic tribal camp. We met the oldest work and hunting tools, found out and tried to get fire on the ancient methods. It turns out that in a gray-haired ancient fashion, people wanted to spend their free time interesting and set up games on the stone surface, something like today's chess. The participants of the event had the opportunity to play them, which also happened to a big azar. We learned to shoot with a bow, we drove the canoe on the Aivieksti, listened to the stories of our ancestral traditions, watched, in ancient times with the help of two stones from grain, flour to make food. The wall, but rich is the history of our ancestors. We realized that there was a lot of susceptible people in Latgale to know our history and to tell others is a heart. The acquired knowledge has been strengthened in the form of competitions.
