The Russian embargo on European Union goods, unfortunately, also painfully affected farms in Latvia - vegetable growers in Zemgale have begun to destroy their own grown, while farmers in the market are forced to sell vegetables and fruit under cost. In order to prevent the situation where Polish food is dominated in Latvian shops and markets, local products are discarded in a compost heap, the office “Latvian product” undertakes to inform the public about quality domestic products, as relatively often customers do not have access to information on the places of purchase of fruit, vegetables, meat, milk and other local products.
Local producers are invited to actively inform the office “Latvian product” about their current production and their purchasing opportunities, while “Latvian product” will provide these companies with publicity in both media and social networks, thus bringing the public attention to the possibility of purchasing the land grown in the land itself directly from the farmers' hands.
“It is not possible that the farms in Pour, Dobele, Jelgava and many other parts of Latvia destroy carefully grown and lolothos, because the local market has been flooded by vegetables from Poland at much lower prices, as their exports to Russia are denied. Like a large part of Latvian society, we do not want farmers to give up in this price war, so the office“ Latvian product ”commits to coordinate information about where and what local products from our farms are available. The people of Latvia must be aware of the quality, flavour, valuable, safe and healthy products available in our country, not in shops and markets from non-known foreign production sites. The development of local businesses allows Latvia to remain tax-free, provide jobs and allow people to stay in that country,“ says Albert Jodis, board member of the “Latvian Product” Bureau.

Large and small businesses are active in Latvian cities and countryside where Latvian residents produce high-quality products from local raw materials, then why should we be dependent on foreign companies' supply? When buying products produced in Latvia, money is invested in local capital and the development of the state economy as a whole, rather than flows away abroad.
