CRISCO

The municipality of Rēzekne continues to participate in THE Eu Citizens' European Citizens' project “Crossroad of the Regions-Fostering Involvement of All Citizens in Local life to improve Social cohesion (CRISCO)” (“Promoting regional crossroads in local community life to increase the effectiveness of cohesion policy”). On 14-16 March, the first international conference of the participants of the project “Cultural and Social barriers to Integration” (cultural and social barrier integration) will be held in Bassano del grapa (Italy), which will also participate in the project participants from the Rezekne municipality, the parish informative editor - Mārīte Šadurska (Pušas civil parish), Nellija Vilnium (Nautrēnu civil parish), and the long-running Gudrika (Lendžu civil parish), as well as the editor OF the lesson and the project coordinator Inta Rimšāne.
The candidates' participation in the conference was selected by evaluating the work prepared - articles reflecting the theme of the project - “cultural and social barrier integration”. The best works and information on the project can also be found on the website of Rezekne municipality http://rezeknesnovads.lv/category/projekti/crisco/
THE project CRISCO operates eight European national governments from Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands and Slovenia. All the municipalities involved have different ethnic, social, formal and informal groups who often have limited information for each other. The lack of information often leads to different prejudices or even the isolation of a group.
Latvian project is represented by the informative editors of the municipality of Rezekne, who are best known for the needs and possibilities of different groups in their parish. During the project, editors have the opportunity to rebuild photography skills, learn the basic principles of press releases and interviews, bearing in mind the need for different opinions and objectivity in any press release, as well as to participate in the competition for the most interesting article and to win a promotion award for international conference in Italy, France, Denmark or Belgium, in order to familiarise themselves with the experience of the local authorities involved in the project with different population groups.
The participants of the project are convinced that meetings with representatives of local governments of other countries, the various social groups of the population, will make it possible to obtain ideas for new articles, as well as to improve the quality of information expenditures.
THE CRISCO project will continue until August 2019.
