Projects

The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Development (MAY) invites local governments to participate in the competition organised by the General Secretariat of the Council of Europe "European Council of the Council of Europe, which is announced in Latvia for the fifth time. The aim of the competition is to identify successful projects or initiatives with a realistic contribution to the protection, management and/or planning of landscapes (e.g. recultivation or public outsourcing projects, landscape research, landscape plans or public campaigns on landscape identification or co-production, involving the public), which would serve as an example of improving the quality of landscapes in the territories of the Member States of the European landscape.
As one candidate may be selected from each national competition, WE CAN organise a national selection, which will determine the candidate who will represent Latvia at European level. In order to participate in the selection of Latvian candidates, the application form must be completed in Latvian and, together with annexes (photographs and other information materials), be submitted to the Ministry. by 31 May:
(a) by electronic mail address: pasts@varam.gov.lv;
(b) in paper format to address: float street 25, Riga, LV-1494. A copy of the application form and a media with the application form and visual materials in electronic format must be included in the postal item.
To be taken into account in accordance with the tender rules the notified project or initiative must be completed at least three years before its application for tenders. As Latvia's application to tender will be sent in December 2018, the notified project or initiative must be completed by 31 December 2015.

In the previous competition session, the right to represent Latvia was acquired by a reclamation project of Daugavpils fortress, which has been recognised as the best at European level.
According to the tradition of the competition, the conclusion of each session is organised in the country of implementation of the best project, so the conclusion of the fifth session of the competition will take place Daugavpils on 19-21 June. Please note that the costs of transport and accommodation must be borne by the participants in the final measure.
