Erasmus +: Youth in Action: more than €1 million in the second project competition

The Youth International Programme Agency (JSPA) launches the second 2018 project competition for Erasmus +: Youth in Action. We call on all those wishing to implement international ideas in the field of youth to submit project applications until 26 April 2018. 13:00 local time.
Available funding for Erasmus +: Youth in Action in the second project competition 2018
The total planned financing for the second project of 2018 is EUR 1 286 775.00:

  1. basic activity “mobility of persons for learning purposes” (total) – 864 884.00 euro, including activities with EU neighbouring countries 59 539.00 euro;
  2. core activities for “strategic partnerships in education, training and youth” for projects in support of innovation – 385 558.00 euro.
  3. supporting “support for policy reform” projects - 36 333.00 euro.

Submission of project applications  
In the second draft of 2018, project applications may be submitted in the following types of projects:
- Action 1 “mobility of persons for learning purposes” for youth exchanges and youth mobility projects;
- Action 1 “Mobility of persons for learning purposes” volunteering projects;
- Action 2 “Strategic Partnership for Youth” projects in support of innovation;
- Action 3 “Structured Dialogue: Meeting of youth and youth policy makers”.

In order to facilitate the process of preparing project applications, THE JSPA on 5 and 6 April calls for the attendance of information seminars on the preparation of online project applications for Erasmus +: Youth in Action. Erasmus +: Youth in Action 2018 priorities  
Recalling that the European Commission in the guidelines for Erasmus + has defined priorities for 2018:
1. basic Actions Proin Projects
- addressing socially marginalised young people, promoting diversity, intercultural and intercultural dialogue, uniform independence values, tolerance and respect for human rights, and projects that improve the media literacy of young people, critical thinking skills and awareness of the initiative;
- the provision of youth workers with skills and methods necessary for the transfer of the common basic values of society to vulnerable groups of young people and also to the prevention of radicalisation among young people.
2. in Operational Projects
Promoting quality youth work, including:
- strengthening the capacity of youth workers;
- the development of new, effective methods to reach marginalised young people and prevent racism and intolerance among young people;
- the inclusion and employment of young people with reduced opportunities, with particular emphasis on young people at risk of exclusion and young people from migrant families, including newly arrived migrants and young refugees;
- cross-sectoral cooperation in youth work;
- strengthening the link between policy, research and practice;
- facilitating the transition of young people from school to work;
- improving the knowledge of the youth situation and policy in the youth field; the recognition of youth work, non-formal and informal learning at European, national and local levels.

Erasmus + programme provides an opportunity to act informally, to build and implement projects at international level, to cooperate with young people in other countries, to acquire important skills and skills in developing the youth field in Europe and Latvia. The aim of the programme is to promote the awareness of European citizenship and to involve young people in shaping Europe's future.
The Ministry of Education and Science is responsible for the implementation of the Erasmus + programme in Latvia, while the State Education Development Agency and the youth international programme agency ensure implementation of the programme. JSPA administers a variety of international and national programmes: Erasmus +: Youth in Action; European Commission information network for young people “Eurodesk”, eTwinning, Ministry of Education and Science Youth Policy National Programme, Youth Guarantee project “and DO!”. The total amount available FOR THE implementation OF projects administered BY JSPA in 2018 is more than eur 6 million.
