Etnographic ensemble “Rikava” celebrates 65 years of anniversary
Each anniversary is a milestone to browse. The Etnographic ensemble “Rikava” has led to another busy and productive work, which has been productive in both collective growth and project implementation, and has been rich with the lives of collective participants - from participation in parish, municipality festivals until the centennium events of Latvia. We are grateful for support and cooperation to the municipality of Rezekne, the cultural division and THE parish administration OF Rikavas.
An integral part of the collective activity is the annual arrival, we have participated in traditional museum nights, annual Rēzekne municipality days, festivals, concerts and events, both in their municipality and in districts, in the event of a “white unit day” event in Klaipeda. The experience gained in the long years of operation and the inheritance of traditions make it possible to find new colours without losing the traditional. There are ten ethnographic performances at the repertoire of the ensemble. In addition to the older, viewer favorites, the newly restored and new ones have appeared: “Dieneškys Sean pļovā”, “Pyrmougon Dean”, “Peguel”, “Aizgaret”, “Brōleisham lela Tolka” (or “Maslu Tolka”), “Kōzys, kōzys byus!”.
An important event in the operation of the ethnographic ensemble “Rikava” – a call for folklore storage in the light palace to record Rikavas songs that will remain in history for subsequent generations. In the studio we sang a number of folk songs written in Rikava - the oldest and exactly Rikavas.
There was also a visit to ancient and new friends in the birthday, in the municipality of Rogovka, Nagles, Berzgale, Dricans, neighbors IN Viļānos and Vydsmuiža, and in Kurzeme's side and in Goodeniekos. We have not just been in the village, but they have taken the villages in their home. The “GOSTI” events of the Straphics etnofestival “GOSTI” in Rikava with domestic and foreign collective participation are expected and memorable. “Baltica” concerts and views of the international folklore festival “Baltica” have appeared in Rikava.
Last year passed the centenary of Latvia. In the events of festival culmination, both the international folklore festival “Baltica 2018” and XXVI's general Latvian song and XVI dance festival, the Rikaviets gathered viewers in the Latvian Etnography Museum. Where the collective is invited and expected, we have given the audience part of our rich tradition of traditions. Many viewers often thank you for the discovery that this may be folklore, not only in its traditional, traditional performance.
A powerful oak with strong roots and a thick foliage in a collective flag. Grow and green our planted oak in the Legacy Garden. The Etnographic ensemble “Rikava” continues to live and grow. There is a lot of intent and new hope. There will be a lot of work. We are ready for new challenges, growth and our missions - the return of the valuable Latgalian ethnographic heritage to future generations - continuing!
This story started 65 years ago when the Etnographic ensemble “Rikava” came to the road with the “Magoņkalns” house. On the road, which is the song of the folk, the wisdom of the ancient wisdom, the People's traditions were flushed.
