Gada ģeovietu – Dzerkaļu (Dzierkaļu) kalnu izzinot

On 13 May, a public event was held in the territory of the Razna National Park, the Hill of Dzierkaļi (Dzierkaļi), which aims to promote geology and geological characterisation, provide information about them, encourage the identification and research of the site. A representative of the association “Northern Vidzeme geopark”, geologist Dainis oak told the present about the 2017 geosite nominations and the origin of the Dzerkal Mountain.
Juris Berzins and Andris Grenbergs (Latvian Petroglifu Centre) emphasized that at the level of Latvia, the Dzerkal Hill is special with the fact that it is excellent – a very high and steep terrain form. Regina Indriķe (Nature Protection Board) noted that the annual geosite of events could be regarded as one of the gifts in the 10-year anniversary of Razna National Park.
The drunken hill is plunged with forest, and the impression of it can only be obtained through a small landscape corridor from the Dzerku house, or from a view tower in Liepukalna. As a result of steep slopes, it is not easy to get to the summit of the Dzerkal Mountain. There were 15 participants in the event who went out in the course of the inquiry.
