Household farm “dashes” Ozolmuižas parish deals with sheep farming. The farm was established in 2006, then there were five sheep mothers and some cattle. In the framework of the project “support for the restructuring of semi-natural holdings”, electric shepherd, sheep and land were installed. Currently, “dashes” are 180 breeding sheep, 150 lambs are sold during the year. A number of sheep species are grown in the farm – Latvian dark galves and Oxford, the sheep are bought in the cattle farm in Limapos. Grains and potatoes are grown for their needs. “Dangers” means organic farming, the owners have acquired additional education in organic farming in the rural counselling and education centre of Latvia. By participating in the project “Installation or restoration of a water supply system in animal housing”, a new aka was excavated, the water was retracted and the heated water was installed, while a new tractor and a mower were purchased within the framework of the project “technical park modernisation”.
The owner of the farm is Francis Kipur with his spouse Victoria, who had celebrated a gold wedding anniversary last year, but the biggest workers are their daughter Inese and the son of Valdis Koroshevski, who are helped by grandchildren Livia and John. The family knows a well-known parish as a workable, helpful man who doesn't refuse to help anyone. Inese is active in the advisory council, with its advice providing support for parish growth.
Inese Koroshevska acknowledges that the happiest day on the farm is when the cattle are running: “that day the animals are happy and joyful.” “Do what you like, then everything will be good.”

Z/s “golden” IN THE parish OF Griškānu, where the Rezekne was located, the operation started in 1992. It is a real family business, as it works by the owner Ilmārs Springgis, his wife Liene and son Ivars. The basic occupation is pork and grain, including forage barley, oats and beans. Farmers manage a land area of 80 ha, part of land being inherited from grandparents, part purchased, so the areas are quite fragmented. There are more than two tens of sows on the farm, the demand for piglets is large, the marketing is handled by the son Ivars.
A few years ago, the economy had to undergo a serious test, due to the epidemic of swine fever, the whole herd had to be removed. We thought of doing something, maybe reprofiling the farm, but it wasn't possible. “I had to bite my teeth and resume everything from zero,” says Ilmārs. The farm shall comply with all the instructions of the food and veterinary service. Currently, in order to comply with the safety requirements, the non-attached entry into the pig house is denied.
The farm is provided with technique, mainly by attracting European Union funds, introducing new technologies, modernising and developing the farm. The family dream is to create a modern slaughterhouse to expand production.
