Thanks to the financing of the Montreal Latvian Public Centre excursion projects, Gaigalavas primary school students had the opportunity to look at some pages of Latvian history.
On April 29, as part of the project, THE 1 TP9T primary school students attended the Asian Lakes Palace. It was a permanent location of ancient Latvians in the 9 th-10 th century, built for defence purposes in the Asian Lake on the island. Behind the lake, he looked at the ruins of the Asian chestnut-type palace.
Later students in the Drabeu parish in Amats were engaged in historically-known activities “forest battles” – listened to the interesting guides narrative of freedom struggles in 1919 on the Cēsis side, surveyed historical photographs and found ammunition pallets, as well as being in the role of the fighters.
We are grateful to all the organisers and initiators of the project contests for the opportunity to visit our homeland, the most important historical events in the wealthy place.
