The satisfaction of the population with the services provided by the municipality and life in Rezekne municipality is generally high

In order to understand the opinion of the population on the quality of services provided by the local government and on life in general, the municipality of Rezekne has organised a survey of the population for almost two months in the period from 07.12.2015 to 01.02.2016, “how do you evaluate the development of Rezekne municipality?”. 244 respondents were involved in the survey, 177 women and 67 men, the average age of respondents 41.4 years. The largest activity in the survey has been reported by RESIDENTS of Nagļu parish, followed by residents from Mākoņkalna and Nautrēnu parish. The active survey also included Audriņu, Bērzgales, Feimaņu, Ilzeskalna, Lendžu, Ozolaines, Pušas and Rikavas parish residents.
In the framework of the survey, the citizens had to answer 11 questions. The results of the survey are shown in both charts and descriptive. Summarising the views expressed on the questions where the answer options are “satisfied”, “rather satisfied”, “rather dissatisfied” and “dissatisfied”, the positive or satisfactory rating indicator summed the response options “satisfied” and “rather satisfied”, negative or unsatisfactory assessment in the total indicator “dissatisfied” and “rather dissatisfied”.

Survey Summary
• “Local government decisions can not be influenced by the eu...” – it considers most of the population surveyed. The local government, including each parish administration, should promote closer cooperation with citizens by organising public meetings more often, informing and identifying citizens' views on activities and important decisions that are planned to be adopted and implemented in the context of rural development. We call on all citizens to be interested in and follow the ongoing developments in their parish and municipality, as well as to take into account the participation of the population in the council established in each parish, as the active participation of the population ensures the supervision of the activities of the municipalities and is the guarantor of the fact that decisions are taken in the public interest.
• as the most qualified services in Rezekne municipality, respondents have acknowledged environmental congestion, the provision of pupil transport, the quality of educational activities of interest, the services provided by cultural, entertainment and libraries, waste management services, the quality of mobile communications and Internet connections, as well as the quality of the public awareness funds – parish local newspapers, the homepage of the municipality, and the newspaper “Rezekne municipality news”.
• The most negatively assessed Rēzekne municipality road and street infrastructure, public order security and safety, public transport and health care services, as well as multi-apartment building management, accessibility and quality of life-long learning services. The population is mainly concerned by the high unemployment rate and the shrinking population annually. In order to facilitate the creation of new jobs in the municipality, the local government is encouraged to promote entrepreneurship and support local entrepreneurs, craftsmen and domestic producers. The dissatisfaction of the population signifies the local government of the services and areas requiring increased attention and in future planning appropriate actions and measures to improve the situation.
• The development of Rezekne municipality in the framework of the survey was evaluated positively. Residents have welcomed the work of the municipality of Rezekne, the competence of employees and the quality of service. The satisfaction of the population with the services provided by the municipality and the life in Rezekne municipality is high in 2015 – 79.91 TP1T.
The municipality of Rezekne thanked the people for their participation in the survey! The results of the survey and the proposals expressed will be used as the basis for further improvement of communication and cooperation with the municipality of Latvia, the development of services in the municipality, as well as the update of the development programme of the Rēzekne municipality for 2012-1018 and the monitoring report of the implementation of the implementation of the development programme for the development of 2015.
